My dog is suffering once again with dry skin

My 13 year old dog has suffered for the past two years with a spring -summer skin allergy/hot spots that his vet has given him shots for. We have recently moved and haven’t connected with a local vet and the dog is suffering once again with dry skin and scratching until he is bloody with bald spots on his back. After unpacking my hemp oil; I rubbed his skin with the thought this will give him a moisture barrier until I can find a local vet. Within 48 hrs the bleeding stopped, the skin was healing and as of today (one week since beginning the hemp oil rubs) his hair is growing back and the scratching and bleeding have stopped completely. I am putting two tablespoons of oil in his food daily and he likes it.
